Reading for Pleasure

Each day children take part in Reading for pleasure which includes sharing set class stories.

The authors covered in each year group are:

  • Nursery: Jill Murphy
  • Reception:  Janet & Allan Ahlberg
  • Year 1: Julia Donaldson
  • Year 2: Roald Dahl 

Handwriting

This year in collaboration with the HVJ we have adopted  a new handwriting scheme for Key Stage 1. 
This promotes the beginning of joined up writing from an early age. It involves gross/fine motor skills on
the lead up to handwriting which aims to promote their overall stamina for writing.
