In both English and Maths we assess using the 'Teacher Assessment Framework' document from the standards and testing agency. This helps form our end of year assessment judgements.

Reading for Pleasure

Each day children take part in Reading for pleasure which includes sharing set class stories.

The authors covered in each year group are:

Nursery: Jill Murphy
Reception: Janet & Allan Ahlberg
Year 1: Julia Donaldson
Year 2: Roald Dahl

Handwriting

This year in collaboration with the HVJ we have adopted a new handwriting scheme for Key Stage 1.

This promotes the beginning of joined up writing from an early age. It involves gross/fine motor skills on

the lead up to handwriting which aims to promote their overall stamina for writing.
