Emotional health and wellbeing

At Hill View we understand that if children do not feel that their emotional needs are met then it is hard for them to achieve academically. We offer a range of ways we can support you and your child in school.

  • Emotional check in’s. If your child needs a listening ear or a positive morning message Mrs Gibson can check in at any time to offer this interaction.

  • Rainbow Club is a wellbeing intervention group that will run for 6 weeks in school. It is led by myself, Mrs Gibson. The sessions will focus on the social and emotional development of your child using fun playbased and circle time group activities. The aim of these activities is to boost confidence and self esteem, recognise and understand our feelings as well as focusing on strategies to support ourselves when we are not feeling our best.

  • The Healthy Heads team is a mental health support team based in Sunderland schools. We offer early intervention to help children, young people and their families who are struggling with mild to moderate anxiety and or low mood. The team compromises of Educational Mental Health Practitioners, Primary Mental Health Workers and Primary Mental Health Specialists who provide a range of emotional;, behavioural and psychological support services to children, young people, parents and professionals.
