To ensure we maintain high standards we produce an annual School Development Plan. Below is an outline of school priorities for this academic year which respond to our end of year data as well as key school priorities.
School Development Priorities 2016-17
1. OUTCOMES / TEACHING AND LEARNING
We aim to:
Recognise gender differences and age related expectations in writing by developing a concise handwriting policy that shows progression throughout EYFS and KS1.
develop handwriting policy that shows progression throughout school and supports both girls and boys.
introduce rewards for improved presentation and handwriting
Letter formation exemplars developed for each year group and given to all stakeholders and on website.
2. PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT, BEHAVIOUR AND WELFARE & OUTCOMES FOR PUPILS -
We aim to:
Ensure no group of learners are disadvantaged by low attendance
Ensure policy and procedures allow school to effectively manage attendance
Develop role of attendance officer
Target groups whose attendance is below 90% and ensure support is in place to help attendance % to rise quickly to national and school averages
Communication with all stakeholders to promote good attendance, through school newsletters and parents meetings.
3. QUALITY OF TEACHING, LEARNING AND ASSESSMENT:
We aim to:
Ensure all teachers have a clear knowledge of the progress of all groups of learners in their class to maintain high standards and ensure no group is at a disadvantage.
Leadership Team to deliver SIMS training to middle managers and teachers– focusing on progress and attainment of groups of learners in cohorts/ subjects/classes.
Middle Mangers will track target groups in own subject/ area of responsibility—focusing on progress and attainment of groups of learners
Class Teachers to track target groups in own class and adapt teaching and learning appro appropriate provisons.
